The events of Tyrol’s fi ght for freedom in 1809 are closely linked to the history of the Passeier Valley - after all they bred the valley’s greatest hero, Andreas Hofer. The impressive collections at the museum at the Sandhof in St. Leonhard, where Hofer was born, and many events throughout the year provide visitors with the opportunity to fi nd out more about his life and the valley’s history. A new permanent exhibition, “Heroes+Hofer”, also looks at the events of 1809 from a European perspective.
