40 INDUSTRY PSI Journal 5/2016 www.psi-network.de IF DESIGN AWARD 2016 TROTEC WINS AWARD Trotec Laser GmbH is pleased to receive one of the most prestigious international industrial design awards. The company’s large-format laser cutter SP3000 was recently awarded the iF Design Award 2016 in the category “Product” at the BMW Welt in Munich. The SP3000 is the largest laser cutter within a series of laser cutting machines for the industrial processing of acrylic, wood or textiles. Through the independent and open design of the V-shaped body, the machining area of 2.2 by 3.2 metres is easily accessible on all four sides. “Customer benefits are a top priority in our product development. A well-conceived design makes a decisive contribution: Faster operation or increased ergonomics creates more efficient workflows and thus profitability for our customers. We are very pleased that we have now won the iF Award,” said Trotec managing director Dr. Andreas Penz. iF International Forum Design GmbH is based in Hanover and has distinguished designers with the iF Design Award since 1954. In 2016 there were more submissions than ever before: The top-class jury received almost 5,300 applications from more than 50 countries. www.troteclaser.com. < Shared joy at the iF Award ceremony (from left): Alexander Jauker (Trotec Product Management), Dr. Andreas Penz (Trotec Managing Director), Peter Koloch (einmaleins Senior Designer), Christine Klinke (Trotec Product Marketing), Marc-Gregor Weidt (einmaleins Managing Director), Jan Möller (einmaleins Senior Designer).
