Quaint or stylish? Those who have a choice certainly always have the possibility to find something suitable in Düsseldorf. Because there’s nothing that can’t be found here. In other words: there’s something for every taste and, above all, for every taste the right alternative. And all those who would like to try something new can enjoy diverse tastes and flavours thanks to the wide variety on offer. In order not to become overwhelmed by the vast range of options, we present a small potpourri of culinary pleasures that the metropolis on the Rhine has to offer on the following pages. In the Mediterranean atmosphere of Restaurant Casa Gustosa it’s really very tasty and tasteful, as the interior reveals. Not cluttered, instead harmoniously arranged – just like the menu, which includes the classic bouillabaisse along with freshly caught gilthead sea bream, lamb chops and pasta specialities. The head chef places particular importance on fresh, spontaneous cuisine and natural ingredients prepared á la minute. Because ultimately he strives to create the perfect flavour compositions to satisfy every palate’s desire. At second glance – at the latest when perusing the thick, leather-bound menu – it becomes very lush. The culinary success story: classic recipes and good products. Those who enjoy hand-made pasta with that special touch, together with a good drop of fine wine should take note of the address of Gallo Nero – alone in order to make a reservation well in advance. The black rooster has a passionate fan base. What a luxury to already know it in advance. When it comes to choosing the meal, it’s almost impossible to go wrong at Hot La Cucina. In addition to the ever-popular favourites including antipasti, salad variations, pasta and pizza, daily specials also await guests. And those who would like to let their mouths water right from the start should choose a table in front of the open kitchen. Here the chefs can be admired while they create the wide range of their culinary masterpieces. The slightly different aspect here: there are not only meals to suit the big appetite. The dishes listed under the category “Spuntini” indicate a snack which has little to do with a snack in the conventional sense. It actually involves little culinary treasures, which are very filling and, at the same time, gentle on the wallet. In the very pleasant environment it’s almost a must that the patron still serves guests personally here.
