www.psi-network.de PSI Journal 1/2016 EDITORIAL CHALLENGE 2016 The promotional products industry has too many interesting topics to justify addressing issues that are in one’s own interest. However, what the upcoming PSI Trade Show has to offer goes beyond the self-interest of a chief editor of the PSI Journal. In point of fact, what is offered there is of valuable benefit to you in order to better master the challenges in 2016. Therefore I can only recommend that all readers look at the PSI Trade Show more intensively this time in order to adopt a sustainable and collaborative work process. In addition to all the products there, the trade show will also show what the PSI came up with in 2015 to support its members even more effectively and creatively in their daily work. This year in the COMPETENCE AREA, the PSI is setting out to convey valuable knowledge for daily work in the company. The evolution towards a promotional products fashion show has succeeded, and now intelligent solutions for corporate life have been added. Any company that instructs an employee to focus entirely on the new COMPETENCE AREA at the PSI is certainly making the right decision. In just a short time, he can gain more useful and helpful ideas for his own company than anywhere else in the world. 2016 will certainly not be an easy year for the promotion- Manfred Schlösser al products industry. Falling margins require a fundamentally better organisation, particularly at small and medium-sized enterprises. Product search has to be optimised and rationalised. Being quick, good and creative is the challenge. The tools for this are available in the aforementioned COMPETENCE AREA. With growing competition through the Internet and clever software, small companies have to exploit their strengths even better. For this purpose, they have to be aware of them, to make them more conspicuous and use them more effectively. There are also very groundbreaking lectures on this topic in the COMPETENCE AREA.* So if you want to know more in order to better meet the challenges in 2016, make sure you schedule half a day to take advantage of the offers of the COMPETENCE AREA at the PSI. I can certainly recommend that you do this. As a member of the PSI, you pay for this and should take advantage of the services that a professional team has created for you. I certainly would – and I do. The PSI is not a trade show that you can tick off in a day. It is simply too large, and all of us can tangibly benefit from the many products and expertise offered by excellent exhibitors. So I am looking forward to seeing you more than once at the PSI. In this sense, I wish you all a very healthy and successful 2016.
